Advances for pharmacological activities of Polygonum cuspidatum (Reynoutria japonica) - A review
Abstract
Reynoutria japonica (Polygonum cuspidatum, Huzhang), whose root has a long history as a Chinese medicinal plant, has anti-inflammatory, antitumour, antioxidant, antiviral, cardioprotective and neuroprotective pharmacological activities. This review summarises advances in its pharmacological activities and active constituents (resveratrol, polydatin, emodin).
