About Us
Where plant tradition meets science
Omnia Sana is an evidence-based herbalism resource that connects traditional plant knowledge with peer-reviewed science — so you can see what the research actually says, and use it responsibly.
What we do
Every plant we cover is documented in a structured database where each claim is tied to scientific literature and given a transparent evidence score. Instead of folklore presented as fact, you get sourced, traceable information you can verify yourself.
On top of that database we build free, referenced resources and a growing suite of interactive tools:
- Materia Medica — in-depth, referenced profiles of medicinal plants.
- Symptom-to-Plant Lookup — find the plants linked to a symptom, ranked by strength of evidence.
- Browse by Plant — see every condition a plant is used for, then open its full profile with studies and safety.
- Knowledge Finder — search the underlying citations and studies directly.
- Herb–Drug Interaction Checker — class-level safety signals for a herb taken alongside a type of medication.
- Herb–Herb Combinations — the synergies and cautions when two herbs are paired.
- Dangerous Lookalikes — the toxic plants a medicinal one can be mistaken for, and how to tell them apart.
- Tincture & Extract Yield Calculator — plan a single-herb preparation with accurate ratios.
- Multi-Herb Formula Calculator — build a multi-ingredient tincture or glycerite and blend its strength.
- Quick Plant Monograph Builder — generate a printable, fully-sourced fact sheet for any plant.
- Plant Sighting Map — a community map of real-world plant sightings.
Why we built Omnia Sana
Information about medicinal plants is everywhere, but most of it is unsourced, contradictory, or commercially motivated. We built Omnia Sana to fix that: one place where botanical tradition and modern research meet, every statement is cited, and the strength of the evidence is shown openly rather than overstated.
Our approach to evidence
Each plant claim is graded on a transparent evidence scale derived from the type and quality of the supporting studies — from traditional use through to controlled clinical trials. Sources are linked so you can read the original research, and we update profiles as new studies are published.
