Abstract
Consumption of guarana (Paullinia cupana) by alloxan-induced diabetic rats beneficially affected hepatic (ALT, AST) and renal function parameters and improved the lipid profile, suggesting guarana could serve as supportive antioxidant therapy in the management of diabetes.
