Guarana (Paullinia cupana) as a potential tool for mesenchymal stromal cells priming in regenerative medicine
Abstract
Guarana (Paullinia cupana) and caffeine were evaluated as priming agents for mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs). Guarana increased MSC viability, polarity, migration toward chemoattractant, antioxidant potential and extracellular-vesicle release while reducing autophagy, suggesting guarana could activate MSCs to improve cellular products for regenerative therapies.
