Abstract
In mice, cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) seed intake increased energy expenditure and reduced fat mass by modulating neuroendocrine circuits that regulate food intake and by enhancing adipose-tissue lipolysis and mitochondrial oxidative metabolism in liver and skeletal muscle, explaining its metabolic and weight-loss benefits.
