Abstract

A methanolic extract of whole cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum), profiled for 11 phenolics and 16 terpenoids, lowered the expression of pro-inflammatory mediators in LPS-stimulated colon and macrophage cells, demonstrating an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action of its phenolic compounds.
