Abstract

This narrative review summarises evidence that Elettaria cardamomum and its constituents improve components of the metabolic syndrome — insulin resistance, hyperglycaemia, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, inflammation and obesity — through antioxidant and anti-inflammatory mechanisms.
