Extracts of bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) fruits improve liver steatosis and injury in mice by preventing lipid accumulation and cell death
Abstract
Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) fruit extracts suppressed lipid accumulation and cell death in mouse hepatic cells and improved hepatic steatosis, injury and hypercholesterolemia in mice, via antioxidant and anti-inflammatory mechanisms, potentially preventing progression to steatohepatitis.
