Peppermint oil in the acute treatment of tension-type headache

Abstract
Topical peppermint (Mentha piperita) oil is significantly more effective than placebo and comparable to aspirin or paracetamol for the acute treatment of tension-type headache, and is a recommended standard treatment, supporting the analgesic use of peppermint oil.
