This review of shiitake (Lentinus edodes) summarises its pharmacological activities and well-studied preparations (lentinan, eritadenine, LEM), covering immune-enhancing, anticancer, antimicrobial, antiviral, hypolipidaemic and hypoglycaemic effects.
