A new oplopane-type sesquiterpenoid (tussilagofarin) and a new chromone, together with 18 known compounds, were isolated from the flower buds of Tussilago farfara. Several sesquiterpenoids significantly inhibited LPS-induced nitric oxide production in RAW 264.7 macrophages, demonstrating the anti-inflammatory activity of coltsfoot constituents.
