Abstract

A UPLC-DAD method was developed and validated for triterpene acids, neutral triterpenoids, phytosterols and squalene in cranberry, and applied to Vaccinium macrocarpon and Vaccinium oxycoccos fruit, peel, pulp and seeds. Ursolic acid was the dominant triterpenoid, with the highest triterpene content in the peels, characterising the triterpenoid chemistry of bog cranberry.
