Abstract

Catnip (Nepeta cataria), which induces pleasure in cats and humans, was fed to male rats and found to increase apomorphine-induced penile erection and slightly facilitate sexual behaviour, while decreasing general activity, an effect attributed to an action on dopaminergic systems.
