Assessment of Genetic Diversity, Micromorphology and Antimicrobial Activity in Nepeta cataria L.
Preclinical
Abstract
Thirteen half-sib genotypes of Nepeta cataria (catmint) were assessed for genetic diversity, essential-oil composition (nepetalactone-dominant) and micromorphology. The catmint oil showed promising antimicrobial potential against human pathogens, supporting both crop improvement and the antimicrobial use of catnip.
