Neuroprotective Effect of Marrubium vulgare Extract in Scopolamine-Induced Cognitive Impairment in Rats: Behavioral and Biochemical Approaches
Abstract
A Marrubium vulgare extract standardised to marrubiin content alleviated scopolamine-induced memory impairment in rats, preserved hippocampal cholinergic function, increased brain noradrenaline and restored cortical pCREB expression, indicating neuroprotective effects via modulation of cholinergic and noradrenergic neurotransmission.
