Abstract

The essential oil of Tussilago farfara from Quebec, Canada was analysed by GC-FID and GC-MS and tested for antibacterial activity. The oil's chemical composition was characterised and it showed antibacterial activity, supporting the antimicrobial use of coltsfoot.
