Stellaria media tea protects against diabetes-induced cardiac dysfunction in rats without affecting glucose tolerance
Abstract
Common chickweed (Stellaria media) tea has been used in folk medicine for metabolic diseases including diabetes. In a rat model of diabetes, chickweed tea protected against diabetes-induced cardiac dysfunction without affecting glucose tolerance, providing experimental support for a cardioprotective effect.
