Rumex acetosa L. induces vasorelaxation in rat aorta via activation of PI3-kinase/Akt- and Ca2+-eNOS-NO signaling in endothelial cells
Abstract
Rumex acetosa, an important traditional medicine, was tested for vascular effects. The extract induced endothelium-dependent vasorelaxation in rat aorta via activation of the PI3-kinase/Akt and Ca2+-eNOS-NO signalling pathways in endothelial cells, providing a mechanism for its cardiovascular use.
