Composition of essential oil of Ledum palustre
Preclinical
Abstract
The essential oil of Ledum palustre (Rhododendron tomentosum), obtained by steam distillation of leaf material, was separated into seventeen fractions and analysed by GLC and GC-MS. In total 80 components were identified, with principal components ledol, palustrol and myrtenal, characterising the volatile constituents responsible for the plant's activity.
