Phytochemistry of European Primula species

Abstract
The genus Primula is the largest among the Primulaceae, widespread in cold and temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. This review summarises the phytochemistry of European Primula species, including Primula veris, covering flavonoids, phenolic glycosides, triterpene saponins and volatile constituents relevant to their medicinal use.
