Abstract

Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides (GLP) down-regulated LPS- or amyloid-beta-induced pro-inflammatory cytokines and promoted anti-inflammatory cytokine expression in microglia, and attenuated inflammation-related microglial migration, morphological alterations and phagocytosis, suggesting the neuroprotective function of reishi polysaccharides is achieved through modulation of microglial inflammatory and behavioural responses.
