Investigation of Epilobium hirsutum L. Optimized Extract's Anti-Inflammatory and Antitumor Potential
Abstract
An optimized extract of Epilobium hirsutum (a willowherb congener) was tested in animal models. In carrageenan-induced paw inflammation it showed anti-inflammatory properties comparable to indomethacin, and in an Ehrlich ascites carcinoma model it reduced tumor-associated inflammation and oxidative stress, indicating potential as a natural adjuvant against inflammation and oxidative stress.
