The Expert Panel for Cosmetic Ingredient Safety reviewed updated information on Dioscorea villosa (wild yam) root extract and reaffirmed its original conclusion that the extract is safe as a cosmetic ingredient in the current practices of use and concentration, supporting the topical safety profile of wild yam preparations.
