Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) Identification
Traditional / reference
Abstract
Foraging identification guide warning that it would be a very deadly mistake to confuse young mugwort with monkshood (Aconitum), whose leaves do not have mugwort's silver underside and whose flowers are completely different; mugwort is reliably identified by the silvery-white woolly underside of its leaves. Anchors the mugwort/monkshood confusion and the silver-underside distinguishing test.
