Marsh Horsetail - Equisetum palustre
Traditional / reference
Abstract
Wildlife-recording profile of marsh horsetail: distinguishes it from field horsetail by its branch-sheath teeth (5-6 versus 3-4), hollow rather than solid branches, appressed rather than spreading branch teeth, and a lowest branch internode shorter than (not longer than) the stem sheath. Anchors the field marks separating toxic marsh horsetail from edible field horsetail.
