False Turkey Tail (Stereum ostrea)
Traditional / reference
Abstract
State conservation field-guide account of false turkey tail (Stereum): it is not edible, and unlike the true turkey tail (Trametes versicolor), which has pores on the underside, false turkey tail has a smooth undersurface. Anchors the inedibility of Stereum and the pore-versus-smooth underside distinction.
