Characterization of Steam Volatiles and Evaluation of the Antioxidant Properties of Different Extracts from Leaves and Roots of Aegopodium podagraria L.
Preclinical
Abstract
Analysis of goutweed (Aegopodium podagraria) leaf and root extracts and essential oils identified sesquiterpenes, alpha-pinene and the bioactive polyacetylene falcarinol, and found the leaf water and methanol extracts to be the strongest antioxidants, supporting the antioxidant potential of the plant.
