Interaction of Phytocompounds of Echinacea purpurea with ABCB1 and ABCG2 Efflux Transporters
Preclinical
Abstract
This study found that Echinacea purpurea caffeic-acid derivatives and tetraenes moderately induced ABCB1 but did not significantly inhibit ABCB1/ABCG2 efflux transporters at clinically relevant concentrations, characterising the herb-drug-interaction profile of purple coneflower.
