Capsella bursa-pastoris ethanol extract and its component icaritin lowered cholesterol via SREBP2- and HNF-1alpha-regulated PCSK9 inhibition in obese mice and HepG2 cells, documenting a hypocholesterolemic effect of shepherd's purse.
