Humulus lupulus (hops) extract and its prenylflavonoid xanthohumol attenuated iron-overload-induced oxidative stress and nerve injury by activating the AKT/GSK3beta and Nrf2/NQO1 antioxidant pathways, demonstrating a neuroprotective antioxidant effect.
