Assessment of extracts of Helichrysum arenarium, Crataegus monogyna, Sambucus nigra in photoprotective UVA and UVB; photostability in cosmetic emulsions
Abstract
Sunscreen emulsions containing Crataegus monogyna (and Helichrysum arenarium, Sambucus nigra) polyphenol extracts provided broad-spectrum UVA/UVB photoprotection with high photostability and antioxidant properties, supporting hawthorn extract as a skin-protective cosmetic additive.
