The polyacetylene falcarindiol with COX-1 activity isolated from Aegopodium podagraria L.
Preclinical
Abstract
Bioassay-guided fractionation of Aegopodium podagraria identified the polyacetylene falcarindiol as a potent cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) inhibitor (IC50 0.3 microM), providing a mechanistic basis for the anti-inflammatory and traditional anti-rheumatic use of goutweed.
