Diterpenoid and phenolic constituents from corn silk (Zea mays) with PTP1B inhibitory activity
Preclinical
Abstract
Chemical investigation of corn silk (Zea mays) yielded nine secondary metabolites including a new ent-kaurane diterpenoid (zeamaysditerpene A) and phenolic compounds, several with PTP1B-inhibitory (antidiabetic) activity, characterising bioactive constituents of the herb.
