Viola tricolor induces apoptosis in cancer cells and exhibits antiangiogenic activity on chicken chorioallantoic membrane
Abstract
Viola tricolor hydroalcoholic extract and its ethyl acetate fraction induced apoptosis in Neuro2a and MCF-7 cancer cells (via increased Bax/Bcl-2 ratio and cleaved caspase-3) and reduced blood-vessel diameter on the chick chorioallantoic membrane, indicating anticancer and antiangiogenic activity.
