Bone protective effects of purified extract from Ruscus aculeatus on ovariectomy-induced osteoporosis in rats
Preclinical
Abstract
A purified Ruscus aculeatus extract dose-dependently recovered bone-turnover markers and bone structure in ovariectomised rats, with its saponins ruscogenin and neoruscogenin docking into vitamin D and oestrogen receptors, suggesting potential for preventing postmenopausal osteoporotic complications.
