A Standardized Extract of Petasites hybridus L., Containing the Active Ingredients Petasins, Acts as a Pro-Oxidant and Triggers Apoptosis through Elevating of NF-kB in a Highly Invasive Human Breast Cancer Cell Line
Abstract
A standardized, PA-free butterbur (Petasites hybridus) root extract containing petasins selectively triggered apoptosis in a highly invasive human breast-cancer cell line via pro-oxidant and NF-kB mechanisms, indicating an antitumour potential of the petasin constituents.
