Evening primrose oil and borage oil in rheumatologic conditions

Abstract
This review describes how the gamma-linolenic acid of evening primrose oil (Oenothera biennis), via dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid, suppresses inflammatory prostaglandins and leukotrienes, and reviews the clinical studies suggesting some benefit in rheumatoid arthritis and other rheumatologic conditions.
