Abstract

This review of evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) relates its biological activity to its chemical composition, focusing on the seed oil rich in linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), precursors of anti-inflammatory eicosanoids beneficial in atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and other conditions.
