Abstract

A polyphenol-rich flower extract of mullein (Verbascum phlomoides, used like V. densiflorum as Verbasci flos) showed antioxidant (DPPH) activity and inhibited TNF-alpha-induced ICAM-1 expression in endothelial cells, with rosmarinic, caffeic and ferulic acids and quercetin as main constituents.
