Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) extract protected against diethylnitrosamine-induced hepatocellular carcinoma in rats through antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, mitochondrial-apoptosis and PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathways, demonstrating antioxidant and chemoprotective activity.
