Antibacterial clerodane diterpenes from Goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea)

Abstract
Nine clerodane diterpenes (solidagoic acids C-I and two diolides) were isolated from goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) and several showed antibacterial activity, characterising antimicrobial diterpene constituents of the plant.
