Is It Worth Combining Solidago virgaurea Extract and Antibiotics against Uropathogenic Escherichia coli Rods? An In Vitro Model Study
Abstract
European goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea), long recommended for the prophylaxis of urinary-tract infections, was tested in vitro in combination with antibiotics against uropathogenic Escherichia coli. The extract influenced bacterial growth, biofilm formation and morphology, supporting goldenrod's traditional role in urinary-tract complaints.
