Solidago virgaurea L.: A Review of Its Ethnomedicinal Uses, Phytochemistry, and Pharmacological Activities
Abstract
European goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea, Asteraceae) is among the most-researched goldenrod species. This review summarises its ethnomedicinal uses, phytochemistry (flavonoids, phenolic acids, saponins, diterpenes) and pharmacological activities, including diuretic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, spasmolytic and analgesic effects, supporting its use in urinary-tract complaints.
