Metabolite profiling and antioxidant activity of Prunus padus L. flowers and leaves
Preclinical
Abstract
Six phenolics (flavonol glycosides and chlorogenic acid) were isolated from the leaves of Prunus padus (European bird cherry, a wild-cherry congener of P. serotina), and the flowers and leaves showed antioxidant activity (DPPH and linoleic-acid peroxidation) correlated with their proanthocyanidin and phenolic content.
