Chemical composition of Prunus padus L. flower extract and its anti-inflammatory activities in primary bone marrow-derived macrophages
Abstract
Prunus padus (European bird cherry, a wild-cherry congener of P. serotina with the same traditional use to reduce inflammation, pain and fever) flower extract, rich in quercetin diglycosides and chlorogenic acid, inhibited collagenase, shifted macrophages toward the anti-inflammatory M2 phenotype and reduced IL-6 release, supporting its anti-inflammatory use.
