Antiinflammatory effects of Viola tricolor gel in a model of sunburn in rats and the gel stability study
Preclinical
Abstract
A gel containing Viola tricolor flower extract showed antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects in a UVB-induced sunburn model in rats (reducing mechanical allodynia, paw edema and myeloperoxidase activity), attributed partly to rutin, salicylic and chlorogenic acids, supporting its traditional use for skin disorders.
