Trace elements in Plantago lanceolata L., a plant used for herbal and food preparations: new data and literature review
Abstract
Plantago lanceolata, widely used in food and herbal preparations, was analysed for trace-element content (As, Cd, Cu, Fe, Pb, Zn and others) across rural, urban and industrial sites. Except near mines and smelters, metal content posed no particular health risk, informing the safe use and quality of ribwort plantain raw material.
