Lavender essential oil on postmenopausal women with insomnia: Double-blind randomized trial
Abstract
A double-blind randomized controlled trial of Lavandula angustifolia essential oil inhalation versus placebo for 29 days in 35 postmenopausal women with insomnia. Although no significant between-group difference was seen in the primary sleep-quality outcome, the lavender group showed a significant decrease in sleep-onset latency and depression levels, reduced hot flashes and increased sleep efficiency on polysomnography compared to baseline.
