Essential oils for treating anxiety: a systematic review of randomized controlled trials and network meta-analysis
Abstract
A systematic review and network meta-analysis of 44 randomized controlled trials (3419 patients, 10 essential oils) for anxiety. Essential oils significantly reduced State and Trait Anxiety Inventory scores and lowered systolic blood pressure and heart rate; in the network analysis lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) was among the most effective and most recommended essential oils for treating anxiety.
