Abstract

Coriandrum sativum is well known for its food and medicine uses. The main bioactive constituents are essential oil, fatty acids, tocol, sterol and carotenoids. Coriander and its extracts possess varying degrees of antioxidative and antimicrobial activities on account of their active constituents. The review summarises the general usages, chemical compositions, bioactivities and safety considerations of coriander.
